UNE SCHUBERTIADE MODERNE
Les Rugissants reinvent the spirit of the Schubertiade, anchoring it in our contemporary reality. The project offers an unusual approach to Schubert's Lieder, performed by professional artists in direct interaction with the audience.
WHEN THE SPIRIT OF THE SCHUBERTIADES MEETS THE PRESENT.
Les Rugissants' nine members, accompanied by internationally renowned baritone Hugo Laporte and pianist Francis Perron, a specialist in the Schubertian repertoire, performed four lieder from Winterreise under the direction of Xavier Brossard-Ménard. Together, they embodied the drama that runs through the work and created a genuine dialogue with the audience.
Stage direction was by Xavier Brossard-Ménard, with assistance from Patricia Yates.
Vision
The project aims to bring Schubert into the present day and make it accessible, thanks to carefully adapted arrangements, real proximity to the audience and dynamic use of the space.
