THE LILY AND
THE LION
From August 17 to September 14, the vocal ensemble Les Rugissants presents The Lily and the Lion, a series of unique and free musical events celebrating the French language through a sonic and historical journey in the heart of the Quartier Latin.
Blending tradition and modernity, the repertoire revisits great classics of Francophone music: from La Famille Soucy to Gilles Vigneault, from Michel Tremblay to Fabienne Thibeault, from Serge Gainsbourg to Clara Luciani, not to mention Lionel Daunais, Duruflé, Poulenc, and the contemporary energy of Hubert Lenoir. A rich and emotional selection, carried by the powerful and nuanced voices of the ensemble.
Free events offered in partnership with the City of Montréal.
Thanks to the artists and partners involved in the production of Le Lys et le lion.
